Our History
The journey of CIC Insurance Brokers Limited
Founded in 1968, Consolidated Insurance Brokers Limited became the first indigenous insurance broker in Trinidad & Tobago. This initiative stemmed from the vision of Senator Mervyn De Souza, an entrepreneur who recognized the need for a locally owned and controlled insurance brokerage firm in the industry.
As the company evolved, the Board of Directors made a pivotal decision on July 10, 2007, to rename the company to CIC Insurance Brokers Limited.
In 2020, we took a bold step by partnering with a Guyanese organization, resulting in the establishment of CIC Insurance Brokers Guyana Inc.
Continuing our growth trajectory, in 2023, we acquired full ownership of the Barbados insurance brokerage firm, IMPS Assurance Broker Limited.
In 2025, we rebranded IMPS Assurance Broker Limited to CIC Insurance Brokers Barbados Limited.
Driven by our commitment to excellence and innovation, we continually evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of the insurance industry.
